Position Summary:
Responsible for implementing the functional part of the drug distribution system under the direct and immediate supervision of a registered pharmacist. Primary responsibilities include medication order filling, unit restocking, unit dose processing, IV admixture and charge/crediting functions. Additional tasks including NIOSH and PCA syringe preparation as well automated dispensing machine administrative tasks. This position also requires completion of assigned projects as assigned by Pharmacy Administration on an as needed basis Performs only such duties as permitted by law and regulated by the State Board of Pharmacy.

Licensure/Certification/Education (Required):

  1. Current/Active Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT)
  2. Education 1: High School Graduate/Equivalent
Licensure/Certification/Education (Preferred):
List any license, certification or education preferred for this job (e.g. driver's license, RN License, HHA Certification, Master's Degree, etc.)
  1. Education 2: Technical School/1 Year College
Specialized Skills (Required):
List the minimum specific knowledge and skills necessary to perform this job (e.g., homecare exp., med/surg exp., basic accounting principles/practices, spreadsheets, word processing, etc.)
  1. Computer processing skills; proficiency in parmacy related software tools and applications
  2. Demonstrates ability to prepare IV solutions under USP 797, USP 800 and other specialty compounds, PCA syringe
  3. Math skills.
  4. Three years of service as a Pharmacy Technician.
Specialized Skills (Preferred):
List any preferred knowledge and skills necessary to perform this job.
  1. Previous hospital pharmacy technician experience.
  2. Typing skills
