The Physical Therapist Assistant implements physical therapy services as directed by the treatment plan provided by a supervising licensed Physical Therapist. The mission, vision, policies, procedures, as well as the Commonwealth of PA, govern the practice. The venues of care may include inpatient or outpatient, as needed. Planning for individual age-specific needs will occur as it relates to the department's specific patient population.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Implements patient treatment in accordance with the care plan designed by the supervising therapist.
  • Document’s aspects of patient care provided as well as patient's response to treatment.
  • Provides person served, family and caregiver education.
  • Collaborates with other disciplines to maximize patient outcomes in multiple sites of care across the continuum.
  • Provides timely, thorough, and accurate co-signed documentation and charging.
  • Actively participates in ongoing program development and Quality Improvement efforts.
  • Appropriately notifies coordinator with questions and concerns regarding the appropriate care of the patient and environmental safety.
  • Promotes the profession through community involvement and affiliation with professional associations and continuing education.


  • PA license in Physical Therapy
  • Associates Degree
