POSITION SUMMARY:

Description: Serves as the primary administrative manager for services at the practice, working closely with the medical and nursing staff. This position manages all operational aspects of providers. Acts as an information resource for administrative questions in close cooperation with the Practice Administrator/Director Physician Practice Management. Acts as the liaison between physicians, staff and Steward Medical Group Administrations. Maintains effective communication with staff at all levels in a timely and effective manner.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  1. Bachelor’s degree of equivalent.
  2. Two to five years of practice management experience in a private physician’s office or other health care setting.
  3. Supervisory experience, billing and financial management experience are required.
  4. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, IDX and Athena Health.
  5. An ability to speak, read and comprehend the English language fluently is required.
  6. Strong interpersonal communication, managerial and organizational skills are required.
  7. In-depth knowledge of private practice systems, including medical practice operations and supervision.
  8. Patient relations, staffing, billing systems, budget and financial reporting and patient flow and scheduling are required.
  9. Knowledge of insurance coverage systems, including but not limited to co-payments, referrals, HMO, PPO and capitated products is required.
  10. The ability to analyze and solve operational issues independently and creatively is required.
  11. Strong orientation to patient care in accordance with the values of the Steward Health System
  12. Must have the ability to analyze, think creatively and to weigh alternatives.
  13. Good perception of people and excellent conflict resolution skills are required.

PREFERRED:

  1. Training in quality improvement, performance improvement, employee relations and staff recruitment are strongly preferred.
  2. SMS experience preferred.
  3. Experience with an electronic health record within the medical office is preferred.
