POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Reporting to the Senior Manager Business Development, this position is part of a dynamic team responsible for strategic planning and project management of the eICU program, working directly with the executive leadership team at Steward Health Care System.
  • The work will focus on coordination of work plans, research and data analysis as well as development of strategic plan for the Steward Health Care System eICU program.
  • This position will require travel to various Steward facilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide support to senior level executives that drives the strategic plan including industry and market research, data analysis, and project management from idea to execution;
  • Develop project plans, establish schedules, budgets and coordinate resources to ensure successful project implementation;
  • Manage the activities of cross-functional teams/workgroups as assigned for projects and initiatives;
  • Manage project priorities: performs risk management;
  • Communicates project status to the project stakeholders;
  • Drive projects to completion in a matrixed in-sourced and out-sourced environment;
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, accurate, and of the highest quality;
  • Facilitate team and meetings with business partners effectively;
  • Effectively communicate relevant project information to superiors;
  • Deliver engaging, informative, well-organized presentations;
  • Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion;
  • Communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully;
  • Be a system resource for all areas of patient monitoring in collaboration with the IS patient monitoring team;
  • Work collaboratively with the IS PMO

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Experience with project management best practices including:
    • Project administration
    • Prioritization of deliverables
    • Project planning and time management
    • Scope management and containment
    • Executing and controlling project implementations
  • Strong background in compiling data, creating reports and displaying information; proven ability to extract and synthesize data; conduct and interpret quantitative and qualitative analyses
  • Experience working and communicating with senior level executives
  • Ability to generate a quality work product in a timely manner while maintaining a strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to function independently and to manage multiple projects and to meet established deadlines
  • Strong team player - able to negotiate compromise
  • Proven track record of meeting project timeliness/deliverables
  • Ability to motivate staff in a matrixed environment
  • Knowledge of patient monitoring systems and electronic medical records

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE/TECHNICAL/OTHER:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience required.
  • Experience (Type & Length): Minimum 3-5 years’ project management / systems implementation experience. Experience in the delivery of applications within the healthcare environment preferred
    • Working knowledge of biomedical engineering, patient monitoring, electronic medical records and information technology preferred
  • Software/Hardware: Strong working knowledge of MS Project, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint
  • License/Certification: Project Management Certification preferred (PMP)
  • Experience writing, evaluating and leading the development of business plans
