The Receptionist is responsible for receptionist services, assistance with wayfinding, and other non-clinical tasks to support the organization. The Receptionist must have strong communication skills, exceptional customer service skills, and demonstration of CARES values, as well as strong organizational skills and ability to set priorities. Computer experience helpful. Able to work in a fast pace environment.
Consistently greets and directs patients, visitors, physicians, and other personnel in a professional manner, using available resources to respond to all questions and/or requests. Direct visitors to their destinations. Directs flower deliveries.
Answers telephone by identifying self, and department in a clear, courteous, and timely manner. Answering inquiries regarding patient information, patient condition, patient whereabouts, Carney information inquiries, etc.
Maintains lobby area in a neat, clean manner on an ongoing basis.
Completes and coordinates plans for obtaining supplies/services outside of the lobby area to minimize the need to leave the area.
Coordinates multiple tasks at the same time. Anticipate customer needs and be flexible in responding to them.
Executes sound judgment under hectic circumstances.
Work limited supervision and exert good judgment based on sound logic and adhere to hospital and departmental procedures.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
The Receptionist must possess effective oral and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, and ability to set priorities. Computer experience helpful. Able to work in a fast pace environment. Shall be accountable for maintaining the confidentiality and security of all hospital related, medical staff related and patient related information and data. Shall be accountable for observing all policies and procedures of the department.
Ability to handle varied and sometimes intense customer service issues in a pleasant and businesslike manner.
