Summary:

Responsible to Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital for supporting the corporate mission, vision and values. Responsible to the Nursing Department for following all department and hospital policies, procedures, and standards of care and practice. Responsible to the customer for courteous, accurate, timely service.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. After Orientation, the RN is expected to perform essential functions. Previous experience as an Admissions RN in a Rehabilitation setting preferred. Experience with FIMS (Functional Independence Measurement Scale) preferred. Previous experience with office equipment and copiers, fax machines, PC preferred.
  • Current Ohio License as RN by Ohio Board of Nursing.
  • Certification in CPR by the American Red Cross or American Hearth Association required or obtained certification by the end of orientation.
  • Certification in ACLS by the American Red Cross of American Heart Association preferred.
  • Certification in Rehabilitation Nursing by the Rehabilitation Nursing Certification Board preferred.

Job Responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

  • Performs all admission assessments and associated documentation.
  • Performs as Team Leader, Charge Nurse or team member of multiskilled workers to accomplish plan of care for each patient when few or no admissions are scheduled.
  • Leads multi-skilled team to provide high quality, cost effective, comprehensive patient care.
  • Independently makes sound judgements and effective decisions relative to patient care.
  • Performs all skills on the Registered Nurse Equipment/Skills Checklist.
  • Serves as a patient advocate and patient/family educator.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
