POSITION SUMMARY:

Communicates and collaborates closely with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to provide consistent quality care for patients receiving outpatient/ambulatory services. Nursing care delivered complies with the objectives and policies of the hospital utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Prepares equipment and assists physician during treatments and examination of patients. Assists in planning, supervising and instructing Nursing Assistants. May be needed to work beyond the regular tour of duty or in another patient care unit as assigned by department head or nursing supervisor. May be needed to work beyond the regular tour of duty of in another patient care unit as assigned by Director or Nursing Supervisor.

CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner designed to project a positive image of the department and the hospital. Works with supervisor/manager and other members of section or department to promote a harmonious work environment. Ensures that all contacts with patients, the public, physicians and other hospital personnel are carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner. Answers telephones in a prompt and courteous manner. Displays concern and provides assistance or explains procedures as appropriate to callers or in face-to-face situations. Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. Works with customers to identify problem areas and recommend solutions.

Additional Information

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (including required licenses/certifications, education and job knowledge/experience):

  • Current Florida RN License
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Current ACLS Certification
  • Current PALS Certification
  • Two (2) years experience in acute care nursing
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in the English language
  • Visual and hearing senses must be adequate to assess/detect changes in the human physiological condition.
  • Good time management skills, ability to perform effectively in fast paced, stressful environment
