Position Summary:

Treats patients of all ages using specific treatment tools for wound and ostomy patients and assists with the supervision of supportive personnel. Assists with education of hospital staff as needed regarding wound management/ostomy care. Participates in departmental Performance Improvement, assures quality care through continuing education, provides consultation, represents department in the hospital and community, maintains interdepartmental and intradepartmental communication. Follows evidence based protocols.Will perform job duties, such as: initial wound evals, weekly follow up assessments, and other woundcare departmental needs.

Position Qualification: (Training, Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities)

The registered nurse utilizes critical thinking skills, coordinates and provides safe, quality care to patients through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

Graduate of a registered nursing program.

Registered nurse licensure in the State of Florida

Wound Care Certification

Ostomy Certification preferred

A minimum of 2 years hospital experience or 1 year wound care experience preferred.

Current BLS/CPR certification.
