Responsible to Western Reserve Health Education for supporting the corporate mission, vision and values. Responsible for coordinating IRB and clinical research studies conducted at Steward facilities and WRHE faculty and staff. Responsible to the customer for courteous, accurate, timely service.


  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
  • Master’s degree in nursing preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience as a research nurse preferred.
  • Requires five years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital or healthcare facility.
  • Current Ohio license as Registered Nurse by Ohio Board of Nursing.
  • Certification in nursing or research by the applicable accrediting body preferred.


  1. Assists with the development, planning, organization and implementation of an effective research program.
  2. Coordinates all aspects of assigned clinical trials.
  3. Identifies, recruits and enrolls inpatients and outpatients into assigned clinical studies.
  4. Executes clinical trial protocols in accordance with governmental and institutional policies.
  5. Works closely with the Chairman of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and assists with coordinating IRB meetings and communications with PIs.
  6. Works with residents and students to assist with scholarly endeavors.
  7. Assists with WRHE educational courses and seminars.
  8. Performs other related duties as assigned to meet the mission of WRHE.
