POSITION SUMMARY:

The Registered Nurse, under the supervision of the nursing supervisor, provide support to staff nurses by assisting with staff education and performance improvement. Assist staff with procedures, policies and care of patients on the medical/surgical/telemetry floors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To assist in promoting and maintaining quality patient care
  • Assist in teaching nursing staff procedures, policies and the standard practice of the facility
  • Respond to Rapid Responses and Code Blue calls within the inpatient services, including EBHS and Maternity
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in an emergency situation
  • Round frequently on the medical/surgical/ telemetry floors and act as a resource for staff.
  • Assist staff with medication administration, documentation, patient care
  • Work closely with staff to develop an environment that promotes staff growth, role competency and proficiency in nursing skills/critical thinking
  • Work with staff to improve patient experience
  • Promote RN professionalism and provide guidance to the Novice RN

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE/TECHNICAL/OTHER:

  • Registered Nurse for minimum of 5 years
  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • BSN required unless previously grandfathered
