JOB SUMMARY

Responsible to Neuropulmonary Services for leadership and implementation of efficient and effective clinical services and administrative operations. Responsible to the customer for courteous, accurate, timely service.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Requires up to four years’ experience on this or related jobs in a hospital or healthcare facility to develop the judgement necessary to make appropriate decisions and to handle emergency situations.
  • Current Ohio license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist by the Ohio Respiratory Care Board required.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAJOR DUTIES

  1. Maintains and monitors the daily clinical and administrative operations of the departments.
  2. Knowledgeable of human resource guidelines to include labor agreements and assures departmental compliance to same.
  3. Implements and monitors effective policies and procedures based on national recommendations of clinical practice guidelines and benchmarks.
  4. Responsible for Performance Improvement initiatives and actively participates on interdisciplinary teams acting as a liaison on matters pertaining to Neuropulmonary Services.
  5. Maintains departmental compliance to regulatory, legislative, JCAHO, and other accreditation agency standards relating to Neuropulmonary Services.
  6. Selects qualified competent department staff to provide quality services.
  7. Completes performance appraisals on time based on policy.
  8. Recommends operating and capital budgets and monitors allocation of resources.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.
  10. Provides nutritional support to the patient.
  11. Instructs patients prior to radiology exams
  12. Performs other related duties as assigned.
