Position Summary:

Coordination, oversight, and administration of the Sebastian Risk Management, Patient Safety, and Grievance Programs as established by federal and Florida Law and relevant regulatory agencies. Assists the director of Quality with day to day implementation of the Quality and Patient Safety Plan and regulator and compliance agencies. Serves as hospital liaison for corporate and community legal counsel-interfacing with defense counsel and managing claims against the organization; coordinating risk management education program and manages the hospital event reporting system. Oversees the activities of the Patient Advocate role; including patient complaint (grievance) reporting and resolution processes to ensure compliance meeting obligations as defined by regulatory bodies. Collaborates with all levels of the leadership team in developing risk initiatives, identifying trends and conducting proactive risk assessments.
