Odessa Regional Medical Center was founded in 1975 as Odessa Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Through the years, the hospital grew and evolved into a full-service healthcare facility, and the name was changed to Odessa Regional Medical Center to reflect its larger campus and more comprehensive services. The hospital has 211 beds with approximately 200 physicians and APPS on staff and >700 employees.

Today, ORMC offers a wide spectrum of healthcare services, including advanced diagnostic imaging technology, emergency care, innovative surgical procedures, maternity care including high-risk, comprehensive cardiac services, and general medical care. ORMC has the only dedicated Obstetrics Emergency Department within the region which is staffed with 24/7 on-site board-certified OB/GYN physicians.

About the Position:

Responsible for clinical identification, risk evaluation, and coordination of corrective action implementation related to risk issues for ORMC and SMMC. Provides intervention and education related to risk management issues to promote safe work practices and quality care and services; in an environment that is beneficial to the safety, health, and well-being of all patients, visitors, and hospital staff. Coordinates risk programs with all hospital departments, administration, and Corporate Risk Management. Reports real and potential risk situations to the Governing Body, medical staff, administration, hospital departments, and committees, as appropriate. Responsible for establishing and monitoring methods to avoid, eliminate, and/or reduce risk situations associated with the provision of patient care and services. Provides service to age ranges from pediatric to geriatric.

Regulatory Requirements:

1. RN License preferred.

2. 1 or more years of previous experience in risk management, legal or insurance-related field. Strong language Skills.

3. Able to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing. 4. Additional languages preferred.

5. Strong written and verbal skills.
