Position Summary:
The Operating Room RN provides care that addresses the specific needs of age groups from infant to elderly, and is also individualized to a variety of needs specific to impairments such as hearing, sight, substance abuse, nonEnglish speaking, and potential victims of abuse. The Operating Room RN incorporates knowledge and understanding of our commitment to patient rights, our mission, vision and values into nursing practice at Good Samaritan Medical Center. Responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the operating room and other areas of perioperative services for all patient populations.

Education: Baccalaureate degree in nursing or related field preferred. Graduate of an approved School of Nursing.
Experience: Requires 2 to 3 years operating room experience. Must be experienced in the circulating role.
Certification/Licensure: Currently licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. CNOR certification preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. In addition to BLS, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) for the Ambulatory Surgery Center.
Software/Hardware: : Meditech 6.0


This position will be eligible to participate in a comprehensive benefit plan which includes a pension plan as defined below. Pension—Steward shall make bi-weekly contributions to the Nurses and Local 813 IBT Retirement Fund (the “Plan,”) equal to 5% of “W-2 Compensation” earned in a “LMA Position” by each “Eligible Employee” during the applicable bi-weekly period.
