The registered nurse assumes full and ultimate responsibility for the quality of nursing care she/he provides to individuals and groups.
Included in such responsibilities is health maintenance, teaching, counseling, collaborative planning and restoration of optimal functioning and comfort. The registered nurse (RN), within the parameters of his/her generic and continuing education expereince, may delegate nursing activities to other RNs and/or health care personnel, provided that the delegting RN shall bear full and ultimate responsibility for the patient outcomes.
The RN provides care that addresses the specific needs of age groups from young adult to elderly and individualizes care to a variety of needs specific to impairments such as mobility, hearing, sight, non-English speaking and psychiatric including victims of abuse. Ther RN incorporates knowledge and understanding of the organization's commitment to patient rights, mission, vision and values into nursing practice.
Required Knowledge & Skills:
Must have skill in applying the nursing process in management of acute withdrawal from substances and the management of co-morbid medical conditions including, but not limited to hypertension, diabetes, chronic respiratory conditions, Hep C, HIV / AIDs as well as other infectious processes and psychiatric disorders.
Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Possess a minimum of two years experience as an RN in an acute care setting. Addictions experience preferred.
Valid Massachusetts RN license, BLS Certification
Beginner skill with Microsoft Outlook, Internet Explorere and EMR.
