Steward Health Care System is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to serve as a business partner to senior leadership, to drive an effective budgeting and planning process and to support high-level analysis. The Senior Financial Analyst will provide financial analysis in support of Revenue Cycle operations in coordination with business unit and corporate staff organizations; produce monthly/quarterly financial results, corporate financial reporting requirements and related financial analysis; and perform financial analysis to evaluate operating performance and support decision-making. The ideal candidate will be extremely well-organized and have solid time management skills in order to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, under sometimes tight deadlines.


  • Works with hospital departmental analysts, Steward revenue staff, accounting, and other finance staff to understand and evaluate financial performance and major financial issues facing the organization
  • Provides technical support to other analysts within finance department, specifically within budget and other systems
  • Designs and maintains accurate records and databases
  • Assists with other management and budget assignments as required
  • Reports on weekly and monthly metrics, including but not limited to accounts receivable, transactions, and budget
  • Accurately responds to Hospital Departments and Revenue Cycle leadership
  • Works with third-party vendors on outsourced AR as necessary
  • Maintains multiple systems to ensure consistency in reporting
  • Respond to internal audit and compliance requests
  • Runs daily, weekly, monthly and ad hoc reports
  • Maintain monthly accruals with accounting and report on budget variances
  • Identifies and works with the manager to resolve problems with CBO processes and, when appropriate, initiates changes to prevent future problems
  • Significant experience with Microsoft Excel and statistical analysis
  • Maintains professional competency, according to department policies, procedures and protocols
  • Maintains a repository of knowledge required to train new analysts including manuals, tip sheets, and other materials
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations
  • Understands, communicates, and explains variance drivers within the business and to help the revenue cycle team in making recommendations to senior management
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned


  • Prior health care experience/education
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Extremely well-organized with solid time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, under sometimes tight deadlines

  • Knowledge of basic budgetary or accounting principles and practices as applicable to health care.


  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
  2. Experience (Type & Length): Two to four years of hospital revenue, healthcare finance, budget or other related finance experience or education

  4. Software/Hardware: Advanced computer skills, particularly Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint. Ideal candidate has experience with SQL, Tableau.
