We are seeking a driven, dedicated SVP of Behavioral Health to support our Northeast Region who has a demonstrated history of successful leadership in healthcare operations. Based in Massachusetts, the SVP, Behavioral Health is responsible for the development and overall administration of behavioral health specific operational departments, programs and services, in alignment with Steward Health Care's overall mission, core values, and strategic plan and in compliance with all relevant federal, state and local regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

This role directs and coordinates Behavioral Health Operations for the Northeast Region (Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Ohio) to ensure high quality treatment programs.

Accountable for ensuring metrics consistently meet and/or exceed all compliance requirements as well as key performance targets and associated service level agreements as well as financial targets for the region.

In conjunction with the Market Director of the Behavioral Health Access Center, oversees the Behavioral Health Navigator program in Emergency Departments in the Massachusetts locations providing operational and financial oversight, and ensuring cooperation with Emergency Service Providers (ESPs) Organizations serving MassHealth patients in these locations.

Interacts with Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health Inpatient Units to minimize Boarding on Behavioral Health inpatients in the emergency departments.

Interacts with Regulatory agencies (Department of Mental Health, Joint Commission, and Department of Public Health) to ensure compliance with all regulations, statutes and laws.

Serves on the MBHP (Massachusetts Behavioral Health Partnership) Board as representative of Steward Health Care and interacts with Beacon Health and other Behavioral Health entities.

Coordinates at least biweekly call with Directors of Inpatient Behavioral Health Units across the region

Ensures that Steward Health Care Network meets all requirements for Behavioral Health Care in the Accountable Care Organization as well as in all Risk Contracts.

In conjunction with the Physician Director for Behavioral Health Care for the Northeast Region, develops and implements all essential clinical care for Inpatient, Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Outpatient programs

Develops and implements improvements and oversight for all operational areas that impact Behavioral Health performance.

Proactively develops, tracks and reports to leadership performance relative to Behavioral Health compliance requirements, key performance targets and/or associated service level agreements.

Identifies and ensures adherence to industry and internal best practices.

Promote innovative thinking among Hospital based leadership toward the development of new service models that enhance current and future services.

Ensures the timely coordination and completion of the referral process and treatment planning for all individuals served.

Provide clinical support, in collaboration with the Clinical and Nursing Departments, regarding the development of treatment practices and interventions.

Provide on-call and emergency supervision. Identify specific training needs; develop and conduct trainings to address needs.

Ideally, the SVP of Behavioral Health will bring a Master’s Degree, a Clinical Social Workers License in the states of Massachusetts, Ohio or Pennsylvania, executive leadership and clinical experience in an acute care setting, experience managing behavioral health in a system of similar size and complexity and will have demonstrated adaptability and flexibility to our rapidly moving business environment.
