The Joint Commission granted this certification based on our positive patient outcomes, infection control practices, team approach to patient care, and the advanced training of our surgeons and staff. We are also nationally recognized by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts as a Blue Distinction Center® Plus for excellence in hip and knee replacements.

Three orthopedic practices are affiliated with Holy Family and perform their surgeries here. These practices offer board certified orthopedic surgeons with decades of experience in knee, hip, shoulder and upper extremities. The practices are:

  • Associates in Orthopedics in North Andover, Massachusetts
  • Essex Orthopeadics and Optima Sports Medicine in Salem, New Hampshire
  • Orthopaedics Northeast in Andover, Massachusetts

Qualifications: Graduate of accredited school of nursing. Previous director-level leadership required. BSN, preferred, MS required, a minimum of four years experience in clinical nursing leadership with demonstrated clinical competence in the specialty area of nursing practice.

Responsibilities:

Directs unit-based performance improvement and patient/employee safety programs and projects within the Operating room, Endoscopy, PACU, Pre-admission testing, Sterile Processing and Pain Management areas over the scope of 2 campuses in Methuen MA and Haverhill MA. Additional oversight for Steward day surgery center in Andover MA.

Participates on task forces, PI teams, committees, etc and Identifies patient and employee safety risks and makes changes to reduce risk.

Utilizes tools such as root cause analysis and failure mode effect and analysis to investigate sentinel events (and near misses)

Holds staff accountable for patient and employee safety standards, polices, procedures and practices.

Holds self and staff accountable for meeting objectives and commitments and adhering to standards even in the face of unforeseen circumstances.

Ensures that patient care regimens are coordinated interdependently with all members of the health care team.

Participates in interdisciplinary committees within the hospital that focuses on patient care issues.
