Position Purpose:

Responsible for performing physiological studies of sleep and sleep related disorders. Explains procedures to patients, places and attaches electrodes, operates equipment, and monitors signals during tests. Administers questionnaires, completes technician reports, video records patients with record observations. Maintains records and statistics for ongoing evaluations and quality assurance. Maintains all records and logs accurately as required by AASM (Academy of Sleep Medicine). Works alone for extended periods of time and establishes and adheres to a schedule to facilitate timely completion of studies. Being proficient in Scoring Sleep Studies.

Education:

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Current CPR certification also required. Excellent computer skills including the ability to troubleshoot computer software, hardware and electrical equipment problems are required. Candidates with previous sleep lab experience are preferred.

Experience:

RPSGTs encouraged to apply and pay adjusted to their experience level. The following are also preferred: previous experience in EEG, pediatric sleep and a working knowledge of human anatomy. Demonstrated effective customer service, interpersonal, and strong communication skills are essential.
