JOB SUMMARY

Responsible to Steward Health Care System for supporting the corporate mission, vision and values. Responsible to Sterile Processing for processing, sterilization, and distribution of medical/surgical supplies and equipment. Responsible to the customer for courteous, accurate, timely service.

Salary Range: $16.50-$21.22

RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAJOR DUTIES

• Processes, sterilizes, and distributes medical/surgical supplies and equipment.
• Sterilizes items correctly according to guidelines.
• Distributes medical/surgical supplies as ordered.
• Works in operating room and TMCS operating room workroom as assigned.
• May assist in the Case Cart room.
• Directs and interacts with department and interdepartmental problems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or GED required. Completion of a college or technical training program in Surgical technology or Central Services preferred. Previous experience as a scrub tech, or Central Service technician preferred. Requires up to one year of experience on this or related jobs in a hospital or healthcare facility to develop the judgement necessary to make appropriate decisions. After orientation, up to twelve month’s experience on this job is required to perform essential functions and to handle emergency situations.

LICENSURE, REGISTRATION AND/OR CERTIFICATION

Certification in CRCST by IAHCSMM or CBSPD preferred.
