POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The Stores Clerk is responsible for assisting to ensure that items that are requested are received and stocked appropriately, and in a timely manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Departmental Orders
    • Picks up daily medical/surgical orders from Receiving and delivers to the appropriate floors, upon assignment. Items are placed on their appointed shelves. Items needing to be re-ordered (brought to per) are rescanned using a handheld device. The scanned orders are then brought to the Purchasing Office for transmittal to the distributor.
    • Prioritizes and assembles orders that are generated pick lists (stock order requisitions) or paper requests.
    • Delivers supplies to areas that requisition them.
  • Satellite Orders
    • Consolidates off-site supplies and makes available for either General Services or Patient Escort personnel.
  • Storeroom Stock
    • Unloads supply orders from pallets and stocks on shelves.
    • Cleans the Department (Storeroom) daily. Empty boxes and pallets are disregards, when necessary.
    • Rotates stock.
  • Automated Data Entry System
    • Generates specific requisitions printouts to process data in a timely manner.
    • Maintains and/or modifies specific requisitions to assist in rapid dispersing of supplies.
    • Verifies supply pars and needs of nursing units and departments.
    • Enters requests into the computer system (using Meditech’s Department Issue function.)
  • Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Customer service skills with co-workers, vendors, patients, vistors, etc.
  • Prioritize projects to complete tasks in the most efficient method.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE/TECHNICAL/OTHER:

  1. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Experience (Type & Length): Minimum of one year
  3. Certification/Licensure:
