POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The Student nursing assistant is responsible for providing direct patient care under the direction of a RN/ Clinical Leader. Duties include but are not limited to vital signs, transferring of patients, make occupied and unoccupied beds, measuring of intake and output, and other related duties as assigned. Trained, responsible individual who functions in a complementary or assistive role to a qualified licensed nurse in providing direct patient care or carrying out common nursing assistant functions for which he/ she has documented competencies for proper performance of the task. Assists with activities to assist the patient in meeting basic human needs including but not limited to nutrition, hydration, mobility, comfort, elimination, socialization, rest, and hygiene. Collects, reports and documents simple data.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Customer service

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE/TECHNICAL/OTHER:

  1. Education: Currently enrolled and attending high school with eligibility to obtain high school diploma within two years of hire.
  2. Experience: Clinical experience in a hospital, long-term care or rehabilitation setting preferred.
  3. Certification/Licensure: Current MA CNA certification and BLS required
  4. Software/Hardware:
  5. Other: Student must be a minimum of 16 years of age with a valid work permit. No one under 18 may work past 8 p.m. without direct, on-site adult supervision and may not start their shift prior to 6am. In addition, the student cannot work more than 9 hours per day, 48 hours per week, or more than 6 days per week. The student is restricted from performing a single person lift. Massachusetts work hours restrictions for minors and child labor laws will continuously be monitored to ensure compliance.
