Summary:

Responsible to Trumbull Regional Medical Center for supporting the corporate mission, vision and values. Supports the organization philosophy in providing safe, high quality, comprehensive patient care. Responsible to the customer for courteous, accurate, timely service.

Salary Range: $23.43 - $26.94

Minimum Qualifications:

• Completion/graduate of a college or technical training program in surgical technology is required.
• After orientation, up to six month’s experience on this job is required to perform essential functions and to handle emergency situations.
• Previous experience as a Surgical technician preferred.

Job Responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

• Maintains clinical competence and sufficient job knowledge to perform the functions of a Surgical Technician.
• Practices aseptic technique as per O.R. standards; maintains the sterile field.
• Assists surgeons throughout procedures by appropriately passing instruments and supplies. Complies with other requests from the surgical team.
• Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
• Communicates effectively with patients, visitors, physicians, co-workers, nursing management, and other departments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
