Labor and Delivery ( L&D ) RN POSITION SUMMARY

  • Provides direct & indirect patient care in the Labor and Delivery setting.
  • Provides assessment and planning for individualized patient care.
  • Communicates with physicians/Director/Charge Nurse /co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies & symptomatology.
  • Responds quickly & accurately to patient changes in condition/response to treatment.
  • Performs general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.
  • Point of Care Testing, including collection, testing and reporting as it relates to job position.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse Licensure from an accredited Nursing Program.
  • One or more years of recent Labor and Delivery/Newborn Nursery experience
  • Current ACLS and BLS from the American Heart Association.
  • Fetal monitoring certification from AWHONN.
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
