We are currently seeing an ULTRASOUND TECHNOLOGIST/TECHNICIAN to join our team! You can plan to work 32 hours per week, days and evenings with rotating weekends. Actual schedule is somewhat flexible within the parameters of Monday through Saturday, 7 AM to 7:30 PM.

Following established protocols and accepted professional standards, operates Ultrasound imaging equipment to acquire images for use by physicians in diagnosis and treatment of pathologies. Successful candidate will:

Operate Ultrasound Imaging equipment to obtain diagnostic images and information; ensures the patient is properly prepared, obtains a relevant patient history and assures proper positioning; selects proper imaging techniques and follows department protocols to provide a complete study for the exam requested; provides complete documentation of the exam and initial interpretation for Radiologist review

Explain the exam to the patient taking into consideration the physical and emotional needs of the patient while maintaining ethical standards, including but not limited to, patient confidentiality, professional conduct and patients physical privacy

Maintain clean work area, prepare equipment, patient room, and stock supplies

Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement projects; utilize appropriate cost containment measures

Remain flexible in all shift coverage and overtime situations, as they become necessary

Use independent judgment and initiative under pressure in a variety of situations when performing patient procedures

Utilize aseptic sterile technique as necessary for invasive procedures; assists Physicians and Radiologists

Maintain effective working relationships and communication with internal and external associates

Complete documentation necessary for each patient exam, including but not limited to CPT codes and checking all Physician order sheets in a timely manner

Remain current on developments and trends in imaging techniques, procedures, and equipment; participate in educational programs; maintain CEU’s that meet State and National guidelines. Attend staff meetings and in service education programs

May oversee and instruct junior staff and/or students as assigned

Qualifications:

ARDMS Certification or ARDMS eligible

Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program with a minimum of 12 months full time clinical ultrasound experience

1+ year of experience as an Ultrasound Tech in an ambulatory or hospital setting

Knowledgeable about illnesses related to the patient population and the various types of care being provided

Interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients who may be under physical and/or emotional stress

Analytical abilities necessary to acquire and effectively utilize knowledge of imaging processes, techniques, and procedures and cross-sectional anatomy

Presents a positive attitude and a professional appearance
