Our specialized services include cardiology, orthopedics, maternity, diagnostic imaging, emergency care with a 24/7 level IV Trauma Center, wound care, and women's health and breast care services.

About the Position:

The Unit Secretary/Clerk functions under the direction of the Director of Nursing and Charge Nurse. The Unit Clerk supports the daily operations of the unit through clerical support to the health care team such as receptionist duties, answering phones, order supplies, filing, patient monitoring through video equipment and computer order entry. Must have a good working knowledge of how to use a computer. The BHU Clerk is responsible for tracking court commitment documents and schedules as well as patient history forms, admission and discharge documents. This position will ensure all patients’ rights documents, postings, and procedures are executed and documented. The BHU Clerk will also be required to obtain a Notary Public of Texas and cannot have felonies, be on probation or parole to qualify for this position. In addition, the Unit Clerk may be cross-trained to assist in other areas as needed. Unit clerks must have the ability to multitask and prioritize workloads, as well as be very organized and polite phone and communication skills.

Regulatory Requirements:

High school graduate of GED.
AHA approved course in BLS certification required upon hire. COAP required within 30 days of hire.
Certified Nursing Assistant recommended, but not required.
