Vascular Ultrasonographer - Full Time

Responsible for supporting the corporate mission, vision and values. Responsible to the Medical Imaging Department for the performance and oversight of diagnostic vascular ultrasound procedures while providing quality patient care. Responsible to the customer for courteous, accurate, timely service.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAJOR DUTIES
- Applies knowledge of ultrasound while accurately performing an exam.
- Provides quality patient care.
- Performs procedures in an organized and efficient manner.
- Operates equipment safely.
- Participates in the education of student Radiologic Technologists.
- Participates in radiology performance improvement programs.
- Processes information in the appropriate areas.
- Instructs patient prior to all exams.
- Assists the manager and lead tech in the vascular accreditation process and maintains full accreditation.
- Guides the developmental requirements for non-invasive vascular services and develops policies and protocols for staff as appropriate.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of a college or technical training program in Radiologic Technology or Ultrasound. Six months experience performing vascular procedures is required on this job to perform essential functions.
LICENSURE, REGISTRATION AND/OR CERTIFICATION
Certification in Ultrasound by ARDMS required. Certification in Vascular Technology by ARDMS required.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR PATIENT CARE
Provides diagnostic and/or therapeutic services to the patient based on physician orders. (examples: medication administration, diet instructions, patient education, etc.). Direct result of any error could have serious consequences for the patient
